Aptima, Inc., the leader in human-centered engineering, announced today that Dr. Terence Andre has joined the company as Technical Director, Force Readiness.

This new position will involve establishing new lines of research related to understanding how military personnel acquire competencies, and how learning technologies can be leveraged to accelerate competency acquisition to meet new mission demands. In this capacity, Dr. Andre will serve as a thought partner with a variety of senior-level customers across industry, academia, and research centers, as well as a program manager across contracts.

Dr. Andre brings more than 30 years of experience optimizing human and system performance through the use of human-systems integration (HSI) and systems engineering principles. He is nationally recognized expert in training and education, having led teams developing learning strategy, curriculum, and learning solutions for government and Fortune 500 organizations and has a proven track record of leading diverse group of scientists and engineers in conducting leading-edge research in military and educational settings.

Prior to joining Aptima, Dr. Andre has had a long and distinguished career as a professor at the U.S. Air Force Academy and a scientist with the Air Force Research Laboratory. Most recently, he served as Chief Scientist at TiER1 Performance. He holds a PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering/Human Factors from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, an MEd in Adult Learning, Training, and Development from Regis University, and an MS in Industrial Engineering/Human Factors from California Polytechnic State University.
